We are right in the middle of this week, and what better way to start this Wednesday than taking a look at all the beauty surrounding Mehreen & Hussain’s real-life fairytale. So, let’s not wait any longer and jump right into it! Right from the start, we have to say that today’s wedding affair packs tons of beauty, love, and traditional flair, so you can imagine how thrilled we were when we laid our eyes into the magnificent shots captured by Texpertz Photography. From all pre-wedding events, including a colorful Mehndi celebrated at the Crystal Banquet Hall, to the closing gala, everything was perfect! One of the most anticipated moments was the magical wedding ceremony hosted inside the halls of the Marriott Grapevine. Still, what we loved the most was the enchanting reception party that bring the wedding festivities to an end. The interiors of the reception venue, completely transformed into a mesmerizing backdrop filled with elegance and traditional flair thanks to the marvelous decor put together by none other than the talented team from Events by Faiza. They took our lovebirds’ vision of a dream wedding and made it a dream come true. Although the decor was something to die for, it was our gorgeous Maharani Mehreen who stole the show after being pampered by Sarah Aasif Artistry. The exquisite makeup and the classy hairstyle praised this Maharani’s natural beauty and complemented to perfection with the artistic Mehndi design by Samira’s Henna Designs! Hands down, a fabulous look that exceeded all expectations! Going back to the party, all we have to say is that it was an epic one! And how could it not be if it was entirely animated by DJ RubyRu, who owned the stage and played the hits of the moment that set the dancefloor on fire! All guests danced the night away, and the only time the dancing stopped was to take a bite at the sweet and mouth-melting cake baked by C. Marie’s Sweets! How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was “the one”?
We were introduced through a mutual friend and hit it off instantly during our first brunch date at Saint Ann’s in Dallas. Like they say, “When you know, you know!”

Being a huge macaron lover, I was told to doll up as we were going to a macaron baking class along with a fancy dinner for date night. We reached an abandoned location known as Off the Grid and made our way inside. I was confused, but with each step, I noticed roses and candles and that’s when I pieced it all together. Once we reached the roof, his sweet friends surprised us. I was in shock from not only seeing them, but from seeing the beautiful Dallas skyline. I, then turned to Hussain and noticed he was on one knee and well, *cue water works* – you know what happens next!
 
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We managed to plan and coordinate every single thing with the help of our family and friends. Though it was stress inducing and time consuming, we wanted to relish in the experience of wedding planning. And when it all came together, we were that much happier!
 
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Considering our culture has multiple events, I knew I wanted a different color palette for each one. For the wedding, I kept it traditional, but different. I wanted a three-tone outfit as that’s what was said to be “in.” My hot pink kameez, blood-red gharara, and maroon dupatta gave me just what I wanted – shoutout to Annus Abrar!
 
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Coming to an agreement on venues, outfits, the cake, all of it!
 
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests were blown away! From the decor to the cake to the food to the timely manner of the each event, they were left speechless.
 
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The entirety of it was filled with several special moments, but during our first dance was when it all came together. As I was swaying with my husband, I was glancing around and thought “this is it!”
 
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Take it easy! Make a list and strike out one item at a time. It always come together in the end!!!

Monday is here and also a very intimate but enchanting wedding coming from Plano, TX. Studio KSD was in charge of capturing the graphic memories for all of us to get inspired by. Today’s feature is what I call awesome. We love when pictures faithfully describe the love our couples have for each other. By looking at Achu & Aby, you know for sure they are soulmates. Such an expressive couple they are, it just makes my heart stop for a minute. The Christian ceremony was held at the majestic Custer Road United Methodist Church, elegantly decorated by our florist and decor crew extraordinaire, Wedding Decor by Faiza. We have seen in countless times their capabilities so do not get surprised if you see glam and taste dripping everywhere. The enchanting Maharani was wearing a beautiful and traditional white gown for the ceremony and for the photo shoot, she rocked an ivory lengha with navy blue details. Couldn’t like those colors more! They looked amazing on her. She was also vibrant thanks to Sarah Aasif, who worked her hair and makeup look. The elegant Raja chose a stylish dark blue tux with a beautiful vest for the ceremony. I was truly impressed by the vest’s fabric! We need to get our hands on those colors for sure! We loved the mixture of colors in the decoration and the overall energy and intimate atmosphere of it. We are very excited about the feature we have for you today. Ideas and inspiration are completely assured! No less, our gorgeous Maharani Shaleen was all things glamorous and enchanting for her big day and her style was to die for. This gorgeous Muslim wedding took place both, in Chicago for the traditional ceremonies and in Dallas for the reception. For this first installment, we will be witnessing the Muslim and the Mehndi ceremonies held at the Windy City and what an incredible set of celebrations they were! For the Mehndi ceremony, the lovely couple had matching outfits. They chose a coral, light turquoise, and beige/gold color palette that was as modern and elegant as it could get. Everyone was completely stoked! Good thing that our friends from Anmol Catering were there after the Mehndi celebration to pamper the guests with the delicious food they are distinguished for. For the Muslim union, our bride came out looking dazzling, of course. She rocked a white gown with little details in silver that left us totally speechless. So alluring! There is a lot going on that you definitely have to see it for yourself. Some background to this story is that I love to read. A few months prior to proposing, I was at Target running errands and ended up in the book section unable to make up my mind as to which book I should buy. Sabih called me just to see what I was up to and I told him my dilemma that there so many books I wanted to read but couldn’t pick just one. He asked me the names of the books on my must-read list. I told him and eventually left Target thinking I’d buy the books later. Fast forward to July 2017. I went to Dallas to celebrate Sabih’s birthday with him (we were long distance) and he took me to the botanical gardens the day before his birthday. We walk down to a portion of the gardens with a bench on the bench are a stack of the same books that I mentioned I wanted a few months back. Along with those books is another really beautiful book. Sabih asks me to sit down, tells me he’s going to read me a story. He opens the book and each page tells a story about my life from my childhood days to when I first met Sabih and our time together. He handwrote each page and drew pictures of the house I grew up in, the masjid I pray at and so much more.  The very last page of the book said “will you marry me” and the ring was placed in the book. There was a photographer nearby who was able to capture every moment. 
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Excel sheets, a supportive family and friends and my husband were the reason the wedding was everything I imagined it would be and more. I made sure to book venues and makeup and photographers first since those book fast. I knew what colors I wanted my mehndi outfit to be and then led to color and theme for the wedding. I wanted a festive almost Aladdin themed mehndi. I wanted to the Shaadi to be a candlelight dinner. My goal was for each event to be different from the last. I made my vision clear the vendors, had multiple follow up visits to make sure we were all the same page. 
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
My mom, sister and cousins all came to Pakistan with me to help me pick out a lengha. I knew I wanted a deep shade of red. I went to a ton different places but nothing gave me that bridal feeling until I tried the deep red outfit at Farah Talib. 
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Because Sabih and I were pretty hands-on with the planning, the best part was seeing what we envisioned come to life. My mom was my right hand and I loved that the planning process allowed us to spend more time together. 
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests loved the food, decor, and dances. My dad was in charge of managing the caterers and assured that everyone was able to enjoy the different cuisines we had (American, Pakistani, Chinese and Mexican food). Both my side and Sabih’s side worked hard to put together a medley of dances that the crowd really enjoyed.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Sabih and I didn’t do a first look so the first time I see him on our wedding day was when I walked down the aisle. I was nervous walking in front of everyone but as soon my eyes met Sabih’s everything felt better.

Live in the moment. It’s the best time of your life so don’t get caught up in little details not going your way. Take in each moment and enjoy it.

After witnessing both Mehndi and Muslim celebrations and all of their glam and elegance, it is now time for the long-awaited main ceremony and the reception afterward, held at the Omni Downtown Dallas, which was fabulously decorated by Wedding Decor By Faiza. Maharani Shaleen’s gorgeous violet lengha is without a doubt one of my all time favorites. Its exquisiteness and style are just too much! A middle eastern princess indeed! Also, we can’t forget about the person who swept our bride of her feet. Raja Sabih was looking totally sharp, rocking a satin black sherwani with details in gold and wine that was a total knockout. Seriously, this couple truly made their vision come true and we are loving every aspect of it. Noblesse at its finest! The union was held at the exclusive Bolingbrook Golf Club, skillfully decorated by the striking floral arrangements and taste of none other than Yanni Design Studio. We are madly loving this feature, Maharanis, we are sure you are just going to love it as well, so, enough with words and let’s get with the pictures thanks to Mir Anwar Studios and their talent. Today’s pair of sweethearts Tanya and Shivang’s are kicking off their celebration with some serious style. The gorgeous bride came out looking totally chic for her wedding ceremony in a bright cherry red lengha that sparkled from top to toe. We are absolutely loving the shimmery glasses used for the creative photo shoot too! So stylish! To keep things extra classy she donned a striking bridal jewelry set. Before their traditional Hindu ceremony, this beautiful bride held her Mehndi party where Samira’s Henna Designs created an intricate design on her beautiful hands.  The groom rocked a cream Sherwani with details in gold and champagne that was just a total knockout. Good thing our friends from Vek Photo were there capturing all the glitter! This entire event is just oozing top-tier radiance, so it makes sense that Wedding Decor By Faiza was on the scene crafting the floral and decoration of the entire bash! How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was “the one”?
Shivang and I met through a mutual friend. We became the best of friends very quickly and were inseparable. After 6 months into our friendship, we realized there was something more than just friendship. I confronted him about his feelings and he admitted he wanted to be with me. He convinced me to take a chance and the rest is history.

My best friend and sister randomly decided they wanted to do girls night and hang out together. They forced me to get all dressed up and took me to a restaurant for dinner. When we were leaving the restaurant, they blindfolded me and stuck me in the back seat. They drove for about 20 minutes and took me out of the car. They walked me into a building and took off the blindfold. There was Shivang waiting in front of a private plane for me. We got on the plane for a ride over Dallas and 15 minutes later, the pilot asked me to look down. There was a sign that said “Marry Me” and when I looked back at Shivang, he was holding the ring. I said “yes” of course! After a little while, the pilot brought us back and to add to the surprise, all my friends and family were there waiting for us. It was a magical day! 

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I planned every single detail of my wedding. Growing up, I never thought about what I would want for my wedding, so I planned as I went along. I realized that I knew exactly what I wanted very quickly. I’ve always been very creative, but also a fan of the classics. We combined the mehndi & sangeet. I wanted the event to be colorful, vibrant & fun. And the most important part was that I wanted it at my house with close friends and family. I designed the floral swing and my mom actually made it with her friends. The backdrop was done by our decorator, Faiza. For my Gaye Holud or Haldi, we followed the Bengali tradition. My mother is Bengali and it was her dream to incorporate some of her heritage into my wedding and we did just that. It was an intimate event at my house with my family & bridesmaids. The theme of our Wedding was very traditional. We incorporate Bengali (for my mom), UP (for my dad), & Gujrati (for my husband & in-laws) customs. I wanted the decor to be elegant and classic. My entrance on the pidhi lifted by my uncles was my mom’s dream come true. We wanted the reception to be modern. I designed my gold gown and wanted the rest of the decor to compliment my outfit. I also designed my cake and am in love with how it turned out. All our vendors made our vision come to life and we could not be more grateful for such an amazing team!

I got my bridal lengha made in Jaipur. I had 4 hours to try on outfits and decided what I wanted for my wedding & reception outfits. I never even had another fitting after that and everything worked out wonderfully. I had an idea of what I wanted, but when I saw this lengha, I knew it was the one. As for my reception outfit, I designed it and our vendor did a phenomenal job!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process was designing all my outfits, jewelry, & looks for the different events. I also enjoyed the part where everyone would sit down together and plan the details of the wedding. Whether it was with my friends, family, or vendors. It was our time to host such an auspicious event and it really brought us closer together.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
From what we hear, our guests loved how well planned the wedding was. They loved how everything was on time and noticed how well executed everything was. 

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

The most special moment of my wedding was when my uncles carried me into the wedding hall on the pidhi. My face was covered with paan leaves, but I really felt my emotions take over me. I was about to marry my best friend and I felt incredibly blessed to be surrounded by all our loved ones. 

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
I designed the flower jewelry I wore at my Mehndi/Sangeet & Haldi events. I also did a surprise dance for my hubby at the reception that everyone loved! I have been a dancer all my life and I had to do a performance at my own wedding. It was one of my favorite moments. 

 

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?

Take a moment to stop and take in everything! You spend so much time planning your big day, you want to be able to really appreciate the day of. It will never come back and it is the only time in your life you will have all those people in the same room there for YOU & your hubby. The moment your wedding events start, you no longer have any more control and you have done all that you can. Let go of the little things and just have as much fun as you can.

Maharani Tanya was entirely gorgeous in her champagne and silver reception lengha while her now hubby looked oh-so-dapper in his luxe navy blue tux. Style at it’s finest! They totally rocked the Courtyard by Marriott Dallas DFW Airport North/Grapevine along with DJ Riz Entertainment‘s beats, all night long! Guests were definitely up for a treat with these couple’s vision. All the dancing, laughter and fun couldn’t go unnoticed in our feature of today, so here we have them! From what we hear, our guests loved how well planned the wedding was. They loved how everything was on time and noticed how well executed everything was. 

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

The most special moment of my wedding was when my uncles carried me into the wedding hall on the pidhi. My face was covered with paan leaves, but I really felt my emotions take over me. I was about to marry my best friend and I felt incredibly blessed to be surrounded by all our loved ones. 

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
I designed the flower jewelry I wore at my Mehndi/Sangeet & Haldi events. I also did a surprise dance for my hubby at the reception that everyone loved! I have been a dancer all my life and I had to do a performance at my own wedding. It was one of my favorite moments. 

 

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Take a moment to stop and take in everything! You spend so much time planning your big day, you want to be able to really appreciate the day of. It will never come back and it is the only time in your life you will have all those people in the same room there for YOU & your hubby. The moment your wedding events start, you no longer have any more control and you have done all that you can. Let go of the little things and just have as much fun as you can.

And we cannot stress how much we loved every single inch of this glamorous and heavenly decor that mirrored the beauty of our gorgeous Maharani Saher. She nailed the ultimate bridal look and burst into the room, leaving everyone speechless after being fully glamorized by MUA Mariam. She designed a nude makeup and an exquisite hairstyle that praised this Maharani’s innate beauty and made her look like a goddess, just like we all want to look for our big day! After the ceremony ended, an epic reception party started! All the guests enjoyed this lavish cornucopia of beauty and flair, while DJ Scoop played the perfect melodies to liven up every moment of the evening. One of the most anticipated moments of the evening took place when our lovebirds had their first dance as husband and wife. All of the guests were anxiously waiting for this moment, and it did not let anyone down! To make their dream wedding come to life, these lovebirds decided to bring Events by Faiza on board to take care of the decor.  And what a great decision it was as this fantastic team created the most beautiful backdrops for Anna & Riyaz to start their married life. Everything was beautiful and mesmerizing. Still, nothing compared to the beauty of our gorgeous Maharani Anna. She burst into the scene donning beautiful attires from Salma Dawood and Panache by Sharmeen very well complemented with exquisite makeup and hairstyle designs by Ghalia Alim and Sarah Mohammed. If that doesn’t say beauty, few things will! The wedding festivities concluded with an epic reception party at the Hilton Dallas/Plano Granite Park. How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was “the one”?
I met Riyaz at work back in 2014 when he joined. At first, we began talking casually at work and randomly on social media. Rumors at work began to escalate that Riyaz was interested in my co-worker and wanted to ask her out. I left work shortly after to get back to school full time and we lost contact. After 3 years, Riyaz messaged me randomly to see how things were at my end. We started talking again and he cleared the misunderstanding about asking my co-worker out. He was interested me instead but was hesitant to let me know. After talking for months, we started dating and that’s when I knew he was the “one.” He was so generous to my mom and instantly connected with my family. I was introduced to his family and his and I became really good friends. Everything was so smooth and seemed perfect.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
We met often at “I love you a latte” for college work or just to hangout. One day he calls me randomly when I was in class to meet him for coffee. He never calls me or texts me when I am in class. I went to see him after my class and we had coffee together. Shortly after, we went out for lunch at Bob Steak House and that’s where he proposed. We had our lunch and spend rest of the day together.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Riyaz and I wanted to get married in summer but were not sure about the dates. After switching between end of July to beginning of August, we decided to go for mid-July. Since summer usually are busy with weddings, we knew that we had to start early and reach out to all the vendors that we ever wanted for our wedding. Thanks to amazing family for helping us out in planning and organizing. We divided tasks to everyone in our families but ended up deciding what we liked and imagined.

Riyaz is a fan of PhotoKumar and I heard great things about Wedding Decor by Faiza for our wedding decorations so we decided to reach them and finalize it. Next, we focused on FOOD. Yes, believe it or not it’s very important. lol Afterwards, we focused on the details. I absolutely loved Ghalia’s makeup and I have been following her for a while. So, I reached out to her and luckily the dates were available. I also loved Fiyona’s mehndi and by luck she was also available.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I had no idea what color I wanted for my wedding outfit but I definitely didn’t wanted red. When I went to Pakistan with my family to shop for wedding outfits, I tried out many outfits with different color options but nothing came satisfactory. And then my designer, Salma Dawood said why don’t have something pink and peachesh. It’s not too common and also colors like this are preferred these days. When she showed me the color, I felt in love and decided to go for that. I picked my wedding dress embroidery from three different outfits. The final piece came out amazing and just as I imagined. My Nikkah sari from Panache by Sharmeen was amazing. I didn’t imagine my Nikkah Sari to be White. Everyone wears white and I wanted to wear something unique with unique color combination. As soon as I saw this sari, I couldn’t stop myself from purchasing it. Riyaz also ended up buying his Sherwani from Sharmeen.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
I absolutely loved planning the little details of the wedding. My niece and nephews were so excited to dress up and dance for their Ani’s wedding. I enjoyed planning little things for pithi and Sangeet with my mom and bhabi. I also enjoyed rehearsing on all the performances Riyaz and I planned. We selected songs, rehearsed on it and performed at our Sangeet and Reception.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guest really enjoyed the ambiance of the reception day. Since we had Tabla and Sitar players at our wedding, it made it very special for guests to enjoy something different. The cake by Sally Bakes me Pretty, made amazing Tres Leche and Nutella cake. Very satisfactory to our taste buds.

The special moment that replays in my mind is the video Riyaz and I made for our families to express our feelings. Riyaz and My father passed away years ago and we wanted to remember them and appreciate them on our special day. The videos we made not only remembered our fathers but also express our love and appreciation for our families. My mom and my brothers cried after watching the video and it also put me to tears also

We decorated our house full of lights and flowers. Some days after the planning and decorating we would drop everything, put the music on, and just dance.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Just be relax. I know weddings can be really stressful but just relax. Plan a head of time, whether it’s a wedding season or not but just plan a head of time. Planning ahead will give you peace of mind that your vendors have the dates locked.

Another advice to enjoy your day. Sometimes, we get so carried away with the timings and details that we don’t even enjoy our own day. It’s your day and you planned it for a while, so Just enjoy it and let everything happen on its own.

I am mehandi lover and very picky when it comes to my Bridal Mehandi. I loved Fiyona’s work and she designed it the way I imaged it. I was not too picky about my jewelry but Tilak Jewelers had the perfect piece to compliment my Nikkah Sari.

Riyaz and I wanted a reception venue that is closer to our place. We loved the venue at Hilton Dallas/Plano Granite Park, so we decided to go with that.

I loved the way our wedding turned out. Everything happened the way we planned out and it would’ve never been possible without the help and support from our families.
